Hunting donates $100,000 to Oilfield Helping Hands
Hunting PLC announced that it will donate $100,000 to Oilfield Helping Hands in connection with the international oil service company’s 2010 Hunting Art Prize.
The gift is supported by a contribution from Hunting and from sales generated at the award ceremony by finalists in the 30th annual art competition, which relocated to Houston in 2006 after a quarter century in the U.K.
Lane Hagood’s painting, Books I Have Possessed, won the $50,000 Hunting Art Prize this year. The award, which was announced at a May 1 gala in Houston, is historically one of the largest in North America for painting and drawing.
Oilfield Helping Hands is a Houston-based non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to oil and gas industry families who face economic crises through no fault of their own.
“Oilfield Helping Hands is committed to our community and to being there for friends and families in need,” said Dennis Proctor, chief executive of Hunting, whose North American headquarters are in Houston. “We’re honored to have the opportunity to support the organization’s volunteers and mission.”
